1
General reimbursement for prescription-only medicinal products.
These medicinal products are marked with the symbol: (circle)
on Medicinpriser.dk. This mark means that the Danish National
Health Service's reimbursement is automatically subtracted from
the price of the medicinal product when you buy it at the
pharmacy.
2
Restricted reimbursement for prescription-only medicinal
products. These medicinal products are marked with the symbol:
(circle with cross) on Medicinpriser.dk. This mark means that
reimbursement is only paid for some very specific diseases (see
4).
3
Restricted reimbursement for over-the-counter medicinal
products. These medicinal products are marked with the symbol:
(square) on Medicinpriser.dk. This mark means that
reimbursement is only paid if the medicinal product is
dispensed according to a prescription for a pensioner or for
people suffering from specific diseases. Apart from this,
reimbursement is not given for over-the-counter medicinal
products (see 4). Your doctor should determine whether you have
a disease which entitles you to receive reimbursement. If this
is the case, the doctor must write "reimbursement" on the
prescription. Please see the list of medicinal products with
the conditions for obtaining reimbursement and the associated
diseases. The pharmacy can decide whether you are a pensioner,
if you can prove that you have been awarded pension, for
instance by presenting your health allowance card.
4
Single reimbursement. In order to receive single reimbursement
you need a special grant from the Danish Medicines Agency
called "single reimbursement". Your doctor must apply to the
Danish Medicines Agency by describing your needs and the course
of your disease. Based on this information it is assessed if
you will be granted reimbursement. You may be granted "single
reimbursement" for medicinal products without general
reimbursement or for medicinal products with restricted
reimbursement if you do not meet the conditions, see 2 and
3.
